I wish I had a better answer for this. Finding actual proof of what will prevent thyroid disease from happening will be hard.
Medical science, and medical industry is focused on cures, not prevention, which could be cheap and unprofitable.
The main responsibility for your health is yourself and your thinking.
Our diet may be one of the main reasons for most of our health problems, including thyroid. The lack of the correct food, toxins in our food and drinking water, too much of the wrong food would be first candidates to suspect.
Intolerances to food may be hard to track, and sometimes very obvious. Acid reflux, indigestion, gassy stomach, lactose intolerance for which many pills are sold is a clue to what not to eat in the first place. Don’t eat bad food followed by pills; don’t eat it in the first place. Some foods may only show their ugly side days later, from metabolic changes, and you may have to keep a journal of everything you eat to be able to track cause and effect.
Chemicals applied to the body. Deodorants, toothpaste, skin cosmetics, shampoo, conditioners, and everything that comes in contact with our bodies require very little the way of safety testing. Be very suspicious. I assume everyone knows tobacco and other inhalants are not the path to good health.
Food and cosmetics are connected with very strong emotions, and will be hard to become rational about.
Most of the medicine practiced is out of step with current scientific research. Forty year old outdated information and standard
clinical practices has nothing to do with science. Assume your doctor is 20 years behind current research, until you have proof of the opposite.
Consider dumping the common farm animals as food sources. Grow your own food if you can. Real food is grown, it does not come out of a factory.
Food is not entertainment, it is medicine.
